Crucible (Better With Mods)

The Crucible is a functional block added by Better With Mods. It is a crafting pot used extensively throughout the mod. The Crucible enables the creation of Soulforged Steel and the smelting of tools back into their respective metals. It serves as a normal Chest, with 27 inventory slots, unless a Stoked Fire is beneath it. Similarly to its Iron counterpart, the Cauldron, additional fires (up to a 3x3 area) beneath the Crucible will increase its speed in many recipes. When Mechanical Power is supplied to the Crucible, it will tip left to whichever way the axle is powering from. The Cauldron will then dump out all of its contents into the block it is facing.

Other mods such as Better With Addons add their own recipes to the Crucible, providing it with extra functionality.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to stoke a cauldron/kiln in order to make netherbrick for a blast furnace. I have my bellows hooked up to my water mill mechanical power on the side with a little hole on it but the bellows does not move and the fire on the hibachi will go out. Is there something I’m missing or need to account for in sev tech?(Layout goes bellows, hibachi on top, fire and then cauldron above fire)

You need to give an alternating Redstone signal to a gearbox that the bellows is attached to.

Edit: I missed the fact that you said your bellows are under your hibachi. The bellows need to be pointed at the fire from the side and a single bellows can stoke 9 fires (3x3)

To clarify your last point: A bellows will "stoke" in a 3x3 area directly in front of it, on the same Y level.

So to stoke a 3x3 of Hibachis, they have to be placed one block lower than the bellows (so their flame is at the same level as it), and it should be placed directly next to the center flame on any of the sides, facing towards them.

I have this setup for mine:

Water wheel > Axle > Gearbox 1

Gearbox 1 Top > 2 Axles > Turntable > Redstone Emitter

Gearbox 1 front > Axle > Gearbox 2

Gearbox 2 Top > 2 Axles > Gearbox > Axle > Bellows

Also my Kiln is Hibachi in the floor with a lever on the side, single space above that, then 5 brick blocks. + shape with an empty middle piece and one on the back in the middle to "plug" the hole. I think it only takes 4 blocks but I did 5 for looks. Still might fill it in a bit.

How do you power a kiln? Does it require stoked fires?

How do you make stoked fires? Do they require a hibachi?

Finally, how do you power bellows? The BTW wiki says mechanical power but I hooked it up to my windmill to no avail

Kiln requires stoked fire.

Stoked fire requires a hibachi because fire from other sources go out when blown by a bellows.

Bellows are a little tricky. Powering them (from behind I believe is the only way) will cause them to blow one puff of air and deflate. To inflate it again, you have to stop powering the bellows so a red stone signal to the gear box nearest the bellows works (red stone signals stop gear boxes from turning axels).

So with this knowledge, you know that an alternating red stone signal to a gear box is how you get bellows to blow air and deflate then reinflate when the bellows stops receiving power. I’ve always used a turn table with a dirt block on it and a red stone torch on one side. Hopefully I didn’t confuse you. YouTube has a few videos but are probably a few years old and are in reference of Better than Wolves. As far as I know, the bellows in both Better than wolves and Better with mods are identical.

The Cauldron is a bulk cooking device that can cook massive amounts of food and other crafting recipes. With this, you can toss massive amounts of foodstuffs into it at the start of a new day, go out and do digging work, and come back to most of your foodstuffs cooked.

It’s important to note that additional fires in a 3x3 underneth the cauldron will make it cook food and other recipes much faster than if you were to just use one flame! This also applies to when you have Stoked the Cauldron as well; The stoked flame of the Hibachi will apply it’s effects better if the entire 3x3 under it is filled with hot fire.

Lava will NOT work with the Cauldron. It simply lacks the ability to heat it up uniformly, and the radiated heat is much, much lower overall. Remember, the block directly underneth the Cauldron must be fire for it to function. If you need the cauldron on early, placing a log on it’s side with fire on it is enough to keep the cauldron going for a few items… Making a correct fire before you enter the nether, one that lasts long enough to do work with, requires experimentation and babysitting the fire.

You also do not need water for the recipes inside the cauldron; The bone and water bucket you used to craft it with (Unless the cauldron recipe has been changed in your modpack) is the “stock” your food and items go into. The open top means you can also have stuff drop into it without having to directly access it’s inventory. Fluids and such will NOT go into it, meaning that if you use water flows or an item dropper, you could feasibly automate say, a mob farm, animal farm, and so much more.

To go with the above, applying mechanical power to the cauldron will tip counterclock-wise to the axle.

Tipping it will dump out it’s contents into the block space it’s open side is facing. Utilizing this, one could make an automatic cooker with the Hibachi and some Pistons. How you, the player, can utilize this, is entirely left to you to experiment with.

In simpler terms: The cauldron tips to the left of whichever way the axle is powering from. Experiment with it to find a good automated setup for dumping out of the pot.

The Bellows is an air blade, that when given mechanical power will contract and blow a gust of air in the direction it is facing. It will not retracted until the mechanical power is disabled, this can be done by sending a redstone signal to a Gearbox somewhere down the line. The gust of air created by the Bellows is able to stoke fire, though normal fire sources are not strong enough to not be blown out. To solve this use a Hibachi.

Additonally, the Bellows is able to blow around items that are in front of it. Items of different weights will go different distances. * Very light items, such as Dusts, Feathers and Papers will go 4 blocks away from the bellows.

Medium weight items, such as Seeds, Hemp products and Ground Netherrack will go 3 blocks.

Мод добавит несколько различных механизмов который позволяют перерабатывать материалы, перемалывать их или распиливать, так же мод добавляет блоки фильтрации, печи и многое сопутствующие вещи. Так же мод добавит добавит немного брони и инструментов, а так же довольно много блоков для декорации, столы, заборы, полублоки, вазы.

Как разобраться с модом?
К сожалению никакой вики по моду нет, и плохо понятно, что делают некоторые блоки и как их использовать. Так же мод слегка багнутый и некоторые блоки не работают так как заявлено. Ставьте JEI и смотрите крафты + смотрите видео от автора, он показывает как работать с модом.

Мод Tough as Nails - времена года, холод, жажда и прочие эффекты в майнкрафт.

Для любителей реалистичности и хардкора, данный мод добавит множество новых игровых механик, усложнив процесс выживания в игровом мире, теперь вы будете должны контролировать свою температуру тела, а она зависит от вашей брони, биома и времени суток, в случае неправильных действий вы рискуете погибнуть. Тем временем в мире появится смена времен года, это так же повлияет на вас, а так же на процесс выращивания пищи.

Итак, что же добавляет мод Tough as Nails?

Времена года

Времена года являются одной из основных особенностей в моде. Со сменой времен года меняется не только цвет травы и листвы, но так же температура окружающей среды, а так же в разных биомах, даже не заснеженных, может появиться снег.

Всего есть 12 времен года, которые подразумевают ранний, основной и поздний период сезона. Каждый сезон длится 7 игровых дней, значит год в майнкрафте равняется 84 внутриигровым дням.

Также зимой могут погибнуть посевы на грядках, если их не согревать специальным образом (об этом далее)

Также есть "часы сезонов" и "сенсор сезонов", которые аналогичны простым часам и сенсору, только они работают со временами года.

Жажда

Жажда аналогична голоду. Она тратится во время бега, к тому же вы не сможете бегать, если жажда будет равна или ниже 3. Также на сложности "сложно" и "хардкор" вы можете умереть от обезвоживания. Вы можете утолить жажду множеством способов, от кожаной фляги до разных напитков.

Кожаная фляга - основной предмет для утоления жажды. Она делается из 6 кусков кожы. Однако, наполняя ее, вы, скорее всего, наберете грязную воду, выпив которую, вы получите эффект жажды, аналогичный эффекту голода для поедания гнилой плоти.

Вы можете получить чистую воду, набрав её в стеклянную колбу и профильтровав её. Для этого вам понадобится угольный фильтр, которым вы очистите воду перед кипячением в печи.

Также получить чистую воду можно собрав дождевую воду "собирателем дождя. Во время дождя он будет наполняться чистой водой.

Вы можете делать соки из чистой воды, сахара и разных фруктов или овощей. Они быстрее утоляют жажду, так что, если соберетесь в дорогу, лучше ими запастись.

Также жажду утоляют зелья и ведра с молоком.

Самый простой способ согреться - костер. Чтобы охладиться - просто поплавайте. Также разные фиды брони меняют вашу температуру. Шерстяная и кожаная - согревают, а алмазная и слизневая - охлаждают. Для создания подходящей температуры в жилище, используйте нагревающие/охлаждающие катушки. Внимание! Они работают только в закрытых пространствах. Также они не совсем корректно работают с блоками стекла.

Ну и конечно специальные зелья меняют вашу температуру. Не стоит забывать, что температура не меняется мгновенно, это занимает время. Для измерения температуры вы можете создать термометр.

Stoked Kiln

The Stoked Kiln will enable you to not only fire pottery, but create Charcoal, iron and Endstone.

For the Kiln to work, you need to have a stoked fire below it:

Items such as pottery, Logs and Ore can be placed in the hole in the middle. These will then look like they are breaking (they are in fact cooking). Once “broken” they will be cooked and ready for collection:

You can make the Kiln as long as you like, provided it has a fire below its entire length:

The Kiln allows you to cook EndStone, giving you Ender Slag and White Cobble. While White Cobble is another decorative block, the Ender Slag is very important for crafting Soul Forged Steel.
